Packing For Camp

Camper Bag/Backpack

Please pack an extra set of clothing for younger campers (we recommend an extra set of underwear, shorts/pants, and shirt for groups 1 through 4, tucked in a compartment of their camp bag for safekeeping). The camp checklist can guide you in packing your camper’s bag.

Athletic Attire for Campers

Please have your camper wear sneakers and athletic socks to camp. Since we offer a variety of sports in the gymnasium, on courts, and outdoors, sneakers are a necessity. Wearing socks is also very important to reduce blisters and athlete’s foot. Crocs, flip-flops, and pool shoes can be worn to and from the pool. We strongly recommend that campers who require eyeglasses during athletic participation wear shatterproof lenses. Although we use washable, non-toxic supplies at camp, we recommend that campers wear clothing that will gain character from a paint or grass stain and that can easily be washed.

Camper Equipment

Summer’s Edge supplies all the equipment necessary for activities. Often campers prefer to bring their own tennis rackets and lacrosse sticks. We make every effort to help the campers keep track of their equipment by placing it in their lockers or in camp headquarters. If a camper is interested in purchasing a tennis racket, we are able to size your camper’s grip properly. Swim goggles and sizing are also available from our camp store. Please label any items that you pack in your camper’s bag.

Toy and/or real guns, weapons, and vehicles are not permitted at Summer’s Edge. We recommend that campers leave all their favorite pets, toys, and stuffed animals at home where they are safe. Although we would love to meet their fuzzy, furry friends, we do not want to have to make a teddy bear rescue in the pool.
